Monthly Tarot Classes. Please
contact me for more information!
I teach 3 four-week classes which take the beginning student through the
first three levels of certification through the Tarot Certification Board.
My class is designed to have you reading cards after the first class.
I believe the most effective way to learn the cards is to connect them
organically to your life. Through a series of exercises and games, you
absorb the meaning of the cards painlessly, without the burden of memorization.
Cost for a each 4 week group of classes is $150.00 and includes all teaching
materials.

THE TAROT CRAWL
|
|
The name is an affectionate steal
from another one of my loves - cigars. Cigar Crawls have been around
for years with cigar enthusiast flying from city to city to attend
the annual events. The Tarot Crawl is identical in nature, just
smaller in scope.

EFFECTIVE CURRICULUM WRITING
|
|
The idea is to be prepared with
a plan for honoring the diversion and eventually getting back to the
main path. For example, one of the first activities of "The Fool"
class would be to talk about personal foolish journeys the students
have made.

DEALING WITH DEATH
|
|
Depending on the deck you use for
your readings, the thirteenth card of the Major Arcana offers even
the uninvolved client a moment of pause as it is turned. Even though
physical death is only one of the many possible definitions for this
card, in a client's mind, it is the definition they first expect.

IT'S ONLY A GAME
|
|
I came up with three games which
I could use to help my students master the meanings of their cards.
I share these with you now and encourage you to look into your own
mental game closet and do some revisiting of your own.

THE GRAMMAR OF TAROT
|
|
The source of the basic words of
a reading is obvious to most of us. We discover key words for each
of the 78 cards. The only stipulation I add is to tell my students
that they will eventually use these words to create the paragraphs
that make up their readings, so I encourage them not to accept the
first word they happen across.

USING PERSONAL CARDS
|
|
Before I begin the reading, I hand
the 16 Court Cards to the client and ask them to pick the one card
which they feel represents them at this point in their life. I request
that they ignore the gender of the cards and respond only to the emotions
emitted by the cards.

THE STAR WARS CONNECTION
|
|
The hero's journey is something we
all experience on a smaller level (one would hope) a multitude of
times in our lifetime. Each step of the way is easier if we study
the footsteps of those who have gone before. The concrete footsteps
appear in films such as "Star Wars", any western or any
type of underdog-kid/team-wins-the-Olympics story. On a more esoteric
level, the footsteps exist for us in the 22 cards of the Major Arcana.

Intuitive Spread Design -
A First Hand Experience
|
|
I wrote
this article, not to promote my own ego-spread, (though you are more
than welcome to use this spread) but to encourage other readers to
follow their own intuition if there feels like a better
way to design a spread.
